Oh No! That sudden 'splat' and your piece of toast lands on the carpet. You are not going to waste minutes waiting to replace it....No, simply claim the 'five second rule,' pick the food up, brush it off and you're ready to eat, right? Science says "I think not!".
Where the origins of this five second rule are still in the dark; Genghis Khan seems to get some of the credit for first implementing the rule for eating food from the floor while others credit the fast food industry, so as to reduce food waste. Both seem improbable!

Within the Havasupai Native American Reservation, near Supai, in Grand Canyon National Park is Havasu Falls, a hidden waterfall featuring a main stream that plummets close to 100 ft (30 m) over a vertical rockface into a large pool of water below.

20 Fenchurch Street, London (aka The Walkie Talkie) melted parts of a Jag!

Reflected sunlight from the 20 Fenchurch Street, London skyscraper, is causing heat damage to cars beneath. Many panels of a Jaguar had buckled in the glare. Other drivers said their vehicles have also wilted in the beam of light. The building's concave shape acts as a giant mirror, shining down a nearby street with intense reflected sunlight.

The Cave Church, the largest church in the Middle East, also known as the Monastery of Saint Simon the Tanner, is located in the Mokattam mountain in southeastern Cairo, Egypt. The church has a seating capacity of 20,000 and was established in 1975.

More than 300 post-conviction DNA exonerations, involving innocent people serving sentences for crimes that they didn't commit. This was in the USA alone. Wrongfully convicted individuals serve an average of 13.6 years behind bars.
They are the usually victims of mistaken identification, invalid forensic evidence, inept defense counsel and overbearing law enforcement officers.

There's an old joke: "What do you call a boomerang that does not return?" A stick!
This object is one of the oldest heavier-than-air flying inventions. Aboriginal Australians used boomerangs to hunt and to use in warfare, as far back as 10,000 years.
The original boomerangs were heavy objects, launched by hunters to knock down the target with accuracy and speed. Boomerangs were not supposed to return, until someone unknowingly carved the weapon in the precise shape needed for it to spin!
